Former Democratic congresswoman, Tulsi Gabbard, unleashed a furious tirade against Joe Biden and his VP on Twitter laying into the US president for “playing identity politics”. The comments come as Biden faces backlash over his choice of candidate to replace liberal judge Stephen Breyer, 83, as his Supreme Court Nominee.
Writing on Twitter, Ms Gabbard said that Biden appears to be making the same mistake again with the appointment of a new Supreme Court Judge.
She said: “Biden choose Harris as his VP because of the colour of her skin and sex-not qualification.
“She’s been a disaster.
“Now he promises to choose Supreme Court nominee on the same criteria.

“Identity politics is destroying our country.”
Biden is considering candidates to replace liberal judge Stephen Breyer, 83 who is retired after three decades in the Supreme Court.
The President is now looking to fulfil a campaign promise to appoint an African American woman to the position.
Republicans are concerned that Biden is putting race and gender ahead of picking the most qualified candidate.

Ms Gabbard continued her attack on the President in a video blasting him for “betraying us all”.
She said: “I supported Joe Biden and millions of other Americans voted for Joe Biden because he promised to unite us.
“Sadly, not only has he failed to do this, he has betrayed as all by pouring fuel on the fires of divisiveness that are tearing our country apart.”
But White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki compared Biden’s pledge to Ronald Reagan’s promise to appoint the first female justice at her Monday briefing.
